I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt

of Mr. Amery's despatch No.132 dated the 30th of May, 1929, on the subject of the Annual Abstract Account for Hong Kong for the year 1927, and to inform Your Lordship that the authority of the Legislative Council has now been obtained for the excess expenditure in question, including the $756.78 for the Mobile Wireless Station Lorry.

A further vote of the Legislative Council has been obtained for excess expenditure on sub-heads for the

year 1928.

I enclose copies of the Order of Business

detailing the items and a copy of the minutes of the meeting

of the Council at which the votes were taken.
